Volunteer Opportunites

Manna Shopping and Pick-Up

Vecinos has an account and a weekly shopping appointment at Manna Food Bank in Asheville. We welcome any volunteer with access to a truck or van who would be able to drive to Manna, pick-up food, and deliver the food to the Cullowhee United Methodist Church on the campus of WCU.

Frequency: Monthly, Biweekly, or up to once a week


Attend outreach with Vecinos staff to take photographs or videos of staff and farmworkers to be used in promotional materials and for the Vecinos website. Spanish not necessary but some basic knowledge can be helpful.

Frequency: Ongoing Basis


Assist with medical interpretation at one of our clinics. Must be bilingual and interpretation experience is helpful but not necessary.

Create, design, or edit Health Education or Promotional Materials

We are continually updating our printed materials that we give to farmworkers and interested community members. We welcome anyone with design or content experience to help us create new and dynamic materials to be used in health education or promotion.

Community Champion

Connect Vecinos with any politicians, musicians, artists, authors, medical providers, or business owners you may know personally who would be willing to help further our cause, organize a fundraiser, or raise awareness about the mission of the program.

Distribute flyers and other print materials

Help us get the word out! We advertise for our clinics and fundraising events by distributing flyers and posters around Sylva, Cashiers, Franklin, Bryson City, and Cherokee. Print and/or distribute materials for us before one of our events.

Frequency: 2 or 3 days/Several times throughout the year

Find, Write and/or Edit Grants

We are always seeking funds that will assist Vecinos in improving the lives of farmworkers. If you have any expertise in writing or finding grants, please let us know!
