Vecinos is reaping the fruits of their 20+ years of labor. After working to establish themselves as a complementing their established primary and mental healthcare services with a farmworkers and the Latinx community in their region, they are honored and proud that the community members who have turned to them for medical services, legal referrals, food assistance, and COVID-19 testing are finally choosing their clinic to get vaccinated in.
This trust and respect from the community was showcased in February when from the 88 covid-19 shots given, 22 of them were first doses, that means that 25% of the month’s COVID-19 shots administered through their clinic were 1st doses – a staggering success that providers across the region and state are no longer seeing as the focus has largely shifted to boosters.
